A creative powerhouse with no off-switch, LANTA’s in a constant state of learning — a theme she brings to life with vivid flourishes in her expressive and idiosyncratic new music. You may already have heard her voice (those were her distinctive, absorbing tones on Sam Feldt’s omnipresent smash Show Me Love) and you may well have heard her songwriting on tracks with the likes of The Vamps but LANTA is about songwriter Kimberly Anne’s desire to unleash her own inner pop artist, and she does so in an intoxicating indie pop style that situates this fierce talent alongside kindred spirits such as Muna and Christine & The Queens. This is pop with lyrics of substance — “self-discovery, liberation to be exactly who you are” — paired with a sound that’s both fresh and familiar. “Unapologetically pop, with a dash of 80s,” is how LANTA describes it. “I'm a sucker for layered synths and drum machines. If Phil Collins and Janet Jackson co-parented a child, it would sound a bit like me”.
